Beijing (China), 6 May (LaPresse) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi that China is “deeply saddened” by the war, which has now been ongoing for more than two months, and stated that a “complete ceasefire” is necessary. The head of Chinese diplomacy met Araghchi in Beijing: this is the Iranian foreign minister’s first visit to China since the start of the war with the United States and Israel on 28 February. “We believe that a complete ceasefire is urgently needed, that a resumption of hostilities is unacceptable, and that it is particularly important to maintain the commitment to dialogue and negotiations,” Wang added.
