Rome, May 6 (LaPresse) – The United States Central Command (Centcom) said that U.S. forces "disabled" an Iranian-flagged tanker in the Gulf of Oman after the vessel allegedly ignored "repeated warnings." According to reports, the tanker M/T Hasna, bound for an Iranian port, was monitored while transiting international waters and was repeatedly instructed not to violate a U.S. naval blockade. "After the crew of the Hasna failed to comply with repeated warnings, U.S. forces disabled the tanker’s rudder by firing several rounds from the 20 mm cannon of a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln. The Hasna is no longer en route to Iran," Centcom concluded. No information was provided on possible injuries.
