N'djamena (Chad), 5 May (LaPresse/AP) – Boko Haram militants have killed 23 soldiers in an attack on a military post in the Lake Chad region, according to the Chadian armed forces. The Lake Chad region has long been threatened by the Nigeria-based militant group Boko Haram, known for its attacks in neighbouring countries. The attack took place on Monday evening on the island of Barka Tolorom. The Chadian army said that a further 26 soldiers were wounded.
