(LaPresse) – ‘And following the success of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, we are relaunching with the North-West’s bid for the Summer Olympics (the first to be awarded are those of 2036).’ This was posted on Instagram by the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, regarding the joint bid proposal from Liguria, Piedmont and Lombardy, with the cities of Milan, Turin and Genoa, for the next Olympic Games. ‘The cities of Turin, Milan and Genoa, and the regions of Piedmont, Lombardy and Liguria, share this ambitious challenge,’ he states. "We want to showcase the sporting, infrastructural and international potential of these regions. Investments can be kept to a minimum, thanks to the new ‘distributed Games’ model.
