Yerevan (Armenia), 4 May (LaPresse) – “Are you concerned by Trump’s threat to withdraw American troops from Italy? I cannot say what will happen; as I have said many times, we know that the United States has been discussing a withdrawal from Europe for some time, which is why I believe we must strengthen our security and improve our capacity to respond in this regard. That said, it is clearly a decision that does not depend on me and one that I personally would not support.” So said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, speaking to reporters before leaving the EPC summit regarding US President Donald Trump’s announcement on the withdrawal of American troops from European bases, including those in Italy.
