Rome, 4 May (LaPresse) – “It’s a special tournament for all of us, and we want to do well. There’s a bit more tension compared to other tournaments, a bit more pressure that we put on ourselves too, but this is the right year; in my opinion, we can do well. Jannik is also continuing to win, so he helps us improve, he helps us try to achieve what he’s achieving, even if it’s very difficult.” So said Flavio Cobolli, after a visit to the Quirinale with President Mattarella, who met the men’s and women’s tennis teams. Cobolli, a die-hard Roma fan, then joked with journalists about his football allegiance: “On the day of the final, there’ll also be the derby,” he said, “and I reckon I’ll be going to the derby.” Regarding the draw, he then commented: “It’s a tough draw whoever you play; it’s a very complicated match, so you have to be wary of everyone – the further you go, the better. We give it our all every day, so we’re ready to fight, and if the derby comes up, I’m ready to go and watch it.”
