Campobasso, 6 May (LaPresse) – A man in his 50s was killed yesterday evening in his home in Civita di Bojano, a small village in Molise a few kilometres from Bojano, in the province of Campobasso. The Carabinieri have arrested a 35-year-old man, identified by the initials L.M., who is already known to the police, in connection with the murder. According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 9 pm in Largo San Giovanni. The attacker is believed to have entered the house ‘possibly with the intention of stealing money’ and struck the victim violently, causing his death. By the time the 118 emergency services arrived on the scene, there was nothing that could be done for the man. The arrested man was in the village following a court-ordered removal order from Bojano and was being monitored via an electronic tag. According to some residents, his presence in the village had already caused tension and fear amongst the inhabitants. The investigation is being conducted by the Carabinieri of the Bojano company, who are reconstructing the sequence of events and the motive behind the attack. The Campobasso Public Prosecutor’s Office has been informed.
