Rome, April 29 (LaPresse) – “The approval by the Chamber of Deputies in first reading of the constitutional reform bill on Rome Capital is a positive step that allows the parliamentary process to begin for a very important and long-awaited measure, necessary to provide the Capital with a system, powers and resources adequate to its role.” This is stated by the Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri. “A broader consensus would have been desirable and, in this respect, the climate of constant tension and confrontation between the parties has not been helpful. It is now important that the reform process continues, that the contents of the ordinary law and the resources needed to implement the new regulatory framework are defined as soon as possible in a shared manner, and that everyone commits to completing the reform by the end of the legislature on the basis of a broad parliamentary majority,” Gualtieri concludes.
