Washington (USA), 12 June (LaPresse) – A federal judge has rejected a request by two Virginia residents to block the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event scheduled for this weekend on the South Lawn of the White House, ruling that they have no standing to challenge the event. Judge Amit Mehta stated that the two plaintiffs lacked standing to sue, as they had failed to demonstrate that the event, scheduled to coincide with Flag Day and President Trump’s 80th birthday, would cause them harm. “The plaintiffs have failed to demonstrate that they are ‘directly affected’ by the defendants’ actions,” wrote Mehta, who was appointed by former President Obama, in his 15-page order.
