Turin, 15 May (LaPresse) – An official announcement regarding the dates of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China will be made shortly; all the details have already been agreed. This was stated to journalists by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Interfax. When asked by journalists to confirm reports in the Chinese media that 20 May was the date of the visit, he replied: ‘We will make an official announcement very, very soon, as we are coordinating with our Chinese friends. We simply do not want to get ahead of ourselves. It will be very soon indeed.’ “Preparations for this visit have already been completed, all contacts have been made and all the main parameters of the visit have been agreed,” noted Peskov. Regarding the agenda, the Kremlin spokesperson emphasised: “First and foremost, our bilateral relations – special relations of a privileged strategic partnership – and a substantial volume of trade and economic cooperation, which consistently exceeds $200 billion.” “And, of course, international issues will also be at the top of the agenda,” Peskov added.
