Milan, 9 May (LaPresse) – ‘The Israeli intelligence agency Shabak has informed Adalah’s legal team that Thiago Avila and Saif Abukeshek, activists and leaders of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), will be released from Israeli custody today, Saturday 9 May 2026.’ This was stated by the NGO Adalah, which represents the two activists, in a statement reported by The Times of Israel, adding that the two activists “will be handed over to the Israeli immigration authorities later today and held in custody pending deportation”.
