Rome, 30 April (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump told Axios in a telephone interview that he had advised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel should undertake only “targeted” military action in Lebanon and avoid a full-scale resumption of the war. “I told Netanyahu that he must act in a more surgical manner. Don’t knock down buildings. He can’t do that. It’s too terrible and makes Israel look bad,” the tycoon told the news site. Trump emphasised that he appreciates Lebanon and its leadership and believes the country can “be reborn”. “Iran has ruined Lebanon. Their ally (Hezbollah, ed.) has ruined Lebanon. When Iran is eliminated, Hezbollah will automatically be eliminated,” Trump stated.
