Milan, 22 April (LaPresse) – ‘Iran does not want the Strait of Hormuz to be closed; it wants it open so it can earn $500 million a day (which is, therefore, the amount it loses if it is closed!). They say they want to close it only because I have completely blocked it (closed it!), so they simply want to “save face”.’ US President Donald Trump wrote this in a post on the social media platform Truth. “Four days ago, some people approached me saying: ‘Sir, Iran wants to open the Strait, immediately’,” adds Trump, “but if we did that, there would never be a deal with Iran, unless we blew up the rest of their country, including their leaders!”
