Rome, 17 Apr. (LaPresse) – Russian forces have struck critical infrastructure in the city of Chernihiv, causing fires and leaving around 6,000 residents without electricity. This was reported by the Ukrinform agency, according to which the head of the military administration of the city of Chernihiv, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, reported the attack. “The enemy targeted critical infrastructure in the city. Fires broke out at the sites hit,” reads the message posted on social media. The regional energy supplier Chernihivoblenergo confirmed that a power plant in the Chernihiv district had been damaged by the attack, leaving thousands of households in the city without electricity. Previous reports indicated that Russian drone attacks had also temporarily disrupted the electricity supply in the southern cities of Kherson and Mykolaiv.
