Rome, June 8 (LaPresse) – There are still many unanswered questions about Christian Eriksen’s illness, as he collapsed during the international match against Ukraine on Sunday evening. The national team doctor, Morten Boesen, provided a new update on the player’s condition via the DBU on Monday morning. "I spoke with Christian this morning and he is doing well. He is with his family and is in good spirits. He is expected to be discharged soon and return home," he told DBU on X. Initially, the national team doctor, Morten Boesen, had stated that it was probably the player’s implantable defibrillator (ICD) that delivered the electric shock. Eriksen’s Instagram profile is flooded with support messages from fans around the world: ‘God be with you’, ‘Get well soon. But I think that’s enough for now, brother’, “You don’t deserve this. I hope you are well”, as seen in the posts. Greetings come from fans in several countries, including Italy, Ukraine, Germany and Azerbaijan, who have not forgotten what happened during the final phase of the 2021 European Championship. Almost five years after Christian Eriksen’s collapse at Parken during Denmark’s opening Euro 2021 match against Finland, the terrible scenes were repeated on Sunday evening in Odense. Eriksen collapsed on the pitch but unlike in 2021, this time he recovered quickly. His defibrillator, the ICD device, performed its function and restored a regular heart rhythm.
