Milan, 20 May (LaPresse) – Palermo’s 2-0 victory at the Renzo Barbera stadium against Catanzaro in the second leg of the Serie B play-off semi-final was not enough. It is the Calabrians who advance to the final, where a place in the top flight is at stake, thanks to their 3-0 win in the first leg. Pippo Inzaghi’s men had high hopes thanks to an early goal from Pohjanpalo in the third minute, but were then forced to concede to Aquilani’s side’s defence, which managed to limit the damage and only conceded the second goal in the 88th minute, scored by Modesto. Catanzaro now face a two-legged tie against Monza for promotion to Serie A: the first leg in Calabria on Sunday 24 May at 8pm, with the return leg in Lombardy on Friday 29 May, also at 8pm.
