Andrea Pellegrino, in the main draw after coming through the qualifiers, beat 20th seed Frances Tiafoe to reach the last 16, having previously knocked out Nardi and benefited from Fils’ withdrawal. The Apulian tennis player defeated the American 7-6(8) 6-1 in one hour and 55 minutes and now awaits the winner of the match between Jannik Sinner and Alexei Popyrin.
