Rome, April 18 (LaPresse) – FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced via his Instagram account that Chris Martin and his band Coldplay will be the main performers of the show to be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19, during halftime of the 2026 World Cup final. In recent years, it has become customary for internationally renowned artists to perform during major sporting events. Bad Bunny and Shakira have performed respectively at the Super Bowl and the Copa América final. Now MetLife Stadium will go down in history as the first venue to host a halftime show during a World Cup final.
