Rome, Oct 25 (LaPresse) – “As for the flag bearers, I think both Goggia and Brignone deserve to carry the flag, but we also have other athletes, and since these Olympics will have opening ceremonies both in Milan and Cortina, there could be an opportunity for another one of our top athletes to have the honor of carrying the flag.”
So said Flavio Roda, president of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI), in an interview with Rai Radio1 during the program Sabato Sport. Speaking about the current situation after the injuries of Brignone and Bassino, he added: “It’s certainly not an easy time for our teams. Morale isn’t ideal for facing the competitions, but we have to grit our teeth, move forward, and hope for better days.”
