Rome, 30 April (LaPresse) – The 41 bis detention regime has been renewed for the anarchist Alfredo Cospito, currently imprisoned in Cagliari. The decision was taken by the Ministry of Justice and notified today to defence lawyer Flavio Rossi Albertini, within the notification deadline which would have expired on 4 May. Cospito is serving a 23-year sentence for the 2006 bomb attack on the Carabinieri barracks in Fossano and for acts of terrorism linked to the subversive organisation FAI-FRI. The defence may challenge the measure before the Supervisory Court in Rome. In September 2025, the European Court of Human Rights had already rejected the appeal, deeming it ‘manifestly unfounded’.
