Milan, 3 June (LaPresse) – The finalists for the 2026 Strega Prize have been announced. They are, in order of ranking: Michele Mari, “I convitati di pietra” (Einaudi), 280 votes; Matteo Nucci, 'Platone. Una storia d’amore' (Feltrinelli), 242 votes; Bianca Pitzorno, “La sonnambula” (Bompiani), 195 votes; Teresa Ciabatti, “Donnaregina” (Mondadori), 184 votes; Alcide Pierantozzi, “Lo sbilico” (Einaudi), 170 votes; Elena Rui, “Vedove di Camus” (L’orma), 163 votes Six books, rather than five, proceed to the second round of voting in accordance with Article 7 of the rules of participation: “If the top five does not include at least one book published by a small-to-medium-sized publisher (as defined according to the classification of trade associations and the subsequent assessments of the steering committee), the book (or, in the event of a tie, the books) with the highest score shall proceed to the second round of voting, resulting in a final round with six (or more) candidates”.
