Rome, 27 May (LaPresse) – “We know the debt is high; that’s nothing new to me. Once we’ve finished paying off the past instalments” of the Superbonus, “it will naturally go down”. So said Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, upon arriving at the Lega conference in the Chamber of Deputies, in response to questions about the IMF’s warning regarding excessively high debt. “That is why we are so careful in managing public finances,” he added. Regarding the rejection of the excise duty cut, he told journalists: “Read the whole thing (the report, ed.). We had the meeting yesterday; everything went well.”
