Milan, 15 June (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump gave an interview to the New York Times on Sunday afternoon, in which he stated that the agreement with Iran guarantees that the Strait of Hormuz will be ‘permanently toll-free’. In what the newspaper describes as a 28-minute phone call, Donald Trump also stated that if Iran fails to reach a final nuclear deal with the United States, it will resume military attacks or make the United States ‘the guardians of the Middle East’ in exchange for a fifth of the region’s revenue. Trump – according to the BBC – firmly reiterated his previous claims that the decision to attack Iran in February and the subsequent naval blockade of its ports had “reshaped the Middle East in America’s favour”.
