Milan, June 8. (LaPresse) – Iran's military central command, Khatam al-Anbiya's headquarters, announced in a statement the end of its operations against Israel that began last night with several missile launches against the north of the Jewish state. The statement said the reason for the Iranian attacks was due to continued Israeli attacks "in southern Lebanon and the Dahiye region," a neighborhood on the southern outskirts of Beirut. Tehran added that it had given Israel a "painful response" in support of the oppressed people of Lebanon and that, "on this basis, the cessation of operations by the armed forces is announced." The statement warned that if the attacks continued, "much more severe and repressive measures would be taken." Bbc Persian reports.
