USA, NYT: "Washington suspects Witkoff is under Israeli surveillance"

New York (USA), June 6 (LaPresse) – The United States suspects that Israel has stepped up its efforts to spy on senior American officials, including U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, who is involved in negotiations with Iran. This was reported by The New York Times, citing U.S. intelligence reports, according to which Washington is also concerned that Israel is attempting to intercept the communications of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Elbridge Colby, and one of his deputies, Michael P. DiMino IV. A spokesperson for the Israeli embassy denied the allegations, telling The Times of Israel that "Israel does not spy on the United States." Earlier, NBC reported that in recent weeks the Pentagon had raised its counterintelligence alert level regarding Israel to the highest level.
