Brussels, 29 May (LaPresse) – "I have just spoken with the President of Romania, Nicusor Dan, regarding the Russian drone that struck a residential building in Galati. I assured him of NATO’s full solidarity with Romania and expressed my condolences for those injured in the incident. I reiterated that NATO is ready to defend every inch of allied territory. We will continue to strengthen our operational readiness to deter and defend against any threat, including drones.‘ NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte wrote this on X. ’Russia’s reckless behaviour,‘ he added, ’poses a danger to us all. They continue to target civilians and civilian infrastructure across Ukraine. And last night demonstrated once again that the consequences of their illegal war of aggression do not stop at the border. Russia’s war must end, as must its disregard for civilian safety. For our part, we will continue to strengthen our deterrence and defence capabilities on our own territory and to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.”
