Hantavirus, Sanchez: ‘The evacuation was a success, with no incidents’

Madrid (Spain), 12 May (LaPresse) – ‘The operation’ to evacuate passengers and crew from the MV Hondius in Tenerife ‘was a success’, ‘over 120 people of various nationalities were repatriated on 10 special flights’ and ‘there were no incidents’. This was stated by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at a joint press conference with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at Moncloa. Sanchez went on to assure that the Spanish government “will not let its guard down”. “We will be monitoring the condition of the patients admitted” to the Gomez Ulla military hospital in Madrid and “the global emergency situation”, the Prime Minister explained.
