Rome, 10 May (LaPresse) – Twelve Pakistani police officers have been killed in a car bomb attack and an ambush in Bannu. This was reported by the Israeli newspaper “The Jerusalem Post”. The attack on a police checkpoint took place in north-west Pakistan, followed by an ambush on officers who had rushed to the scene to provide support. A police official stated in a press release that the bodies of 12 officers had been recovered, whilst three members of staff were found alive and rushed to hospital. Police sources stated that the militants also used drones in the attack. Ambulances from rescue agencies and civilian hospitals rushed to the scene of the attack, whilst officials declared a state of emergency in Bannu’s public hospitals.
