Milan, 7 May (LaPresse/AP) – ‘We expect an agreement sooner rather than later.’ This was stated by the spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tahir Andrabi, referring to Iran and the United States. ‘We hope the parties will reach a peaceful and sustainable solution that contributes not only to peace in our region, but also to international peace,’ he added. The spokesperson declined, however, to provide a timeline, stating that Pakistan would not disclose details of the ongoing diplomatic efforts. ‘What I can tell you, and this is what I have said previously, is that we remain positive, we remain optimistic and we hope that a solution will come sooner rather than later,’ he said. When asked whether Pakistan expects a response from Iran later on Thursday, Andrabi replied: ‘I will not comment on the details or the exchange of messages.’
