Milan, 7 May (LaPresse) – A Dutch KLM flight attendant has been admitted to hospital in Amsterdam with symptoms of hantavirus and is undergoing tests. This was reported by the Dutch Ministry of Health, as cited by local media. The broadcaster NOS explains that the woman had come into contact in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a 69-year-old Dutch woman who subsequently died from the virus the following day. The flight attendant has mild symptoms and is in isolation. The Dutch press reports that the infected woman was on board the KLM flight for a short time on 25 April, but it was soon decided that she was too unwell to fly. She had wanted to return home from South Africa after her husband had previously died during an Atlantic cruise on the Dutch vessel Hondius. The ship set sail from the coast of Cape Verde yesterday evening and is en route to the Canary Islands, where it is due to dock on Saturday.
