Milan, May 4 (LaPresse) – The Iranian joint military command has warned that US armed forces would be attacked if they attempted to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz. "We warn that any foreign armed force, in particular the aggressive US military force, will be targeted if it intends to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz," said the Khatam al-Anbiya joint military command. This was reported by Iran International. According to the statement, any attempt by the United States to change the current situation would only further complicate matters and put vessels in the area at risk. It also added that safe passage through the strait must be coordinated with Iranian armed forces. "We have repeatedly stated that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is in the hands of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and that any passage and safe navigation, in any situation, will take place in coordination with the armed forces," said Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters, warning that "any foreign armed force, in particular the invading US military, will be attacked if it attempts to approach and enter the Strait of Hormuz," as reported by BBC Persian.
