Turin, April 18 (LaPresse) – Overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 219 drones. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 190 of them, but 28 drones struck 17 locations. This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda. “According to preliminary information, as of 08:30 a.m., [Ukrainian] air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 190 drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types in the north, south and east of the country,” the Ukrainian Air Force reported. Impacts from 28 drones were recorded in 17 locations, and debris fell in 9 locations. Specifically, Russia attacked Ukraine with 219 drones of various types, launched from the Russian cities of Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 150 of the drones were autonomous-guidance Shahed-type systems. Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defense forces were deployed to repel the attack. Several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
