Milan, 8 April (LaPresse/AP) – The two-week ceasefire plan agreed by Iran and the US allows Iran and Oman to impose a toll on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. This is according to a regional official who was directly involved in the negotiations, who stated that Tehran will use the funds raised for reconstruction. It is currently unclear how Oman will allocate its revenue. The Strait lies within the territorial waters of both Oman and Iran. The international community had always regarded the passage as an international waterway and had never previously paid tolls.
