Goma (Democratic Republic of Congo), Apr 2 (LaPresse/AP) – Rebels affiliated with the Islamic State have killed more than 30 people in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Local officials reported that fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed civilians Wednesday night in the village of Bafwakoa, near the border with Uganda. The ADF is an Ugandan Islamist group linked to IS that operates on both sides of the border. The attack comes as eastern Congo could see the end of the ongoing conflict with the M23, a separate rebel group supported by neighboring Rwanda. Local officials said at least 30 people were killed with machetes, several others remain missing, and at least two people were taken hostage.
