Rome, 1 April (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must make a decision ‘today’ on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass. This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. Interfax reports. ‘Zelensky must make a decision today so that Ukrainian troops leave Donbass and move beyond the administrative borders of the Donetsk People’s Republic,’ he said, responding to a question about Zelenskyy’s statement that Ukraine must withdraw its troops from Donbass within two months. Peskov emphasised that the need to withdraw Ukrainian troops from the Donbas has been discussed repeatedly and that, ‘in theory, Zelensky should have made this decision yesterday, as we had discussed, taking responsibility. According to Peskov, Zelensky’s decision could ‘save the lives’ of many people and, above all, ‘allow us to bring the active phase of this war to an end’.’
