Iran, Trump: ‘Iranian negotiators are afraid of being killed by Tehran’

Milan, 26 March (LaPresse/AP) – Speaking at a Republican fundraising event in Washington, US President Trump stated that Iran is still keen to reach an agreement. “They are negotiating, by the way, and they are desperate to make a deal, but they are afraid to say so because they think they would be killed by their own people,” Trump said, referring to Iranian leaders. The president added: “They are also afraid of being killed by us,” before joking that nobody wanted to lead Iran for fear of being assassinated by the United States.
