Turin, 10 March (LaPresse) – ‘Please spare us the hypocrisy. You have built your career by standing on the wrong side of history, giving the green light to occupation, genocide and atrocities, and now recycling US-Israeli crimes of aggression and war crimes against Iranians.’ This is the accusation levelled by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei at European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who expressed solidarity with Iranians and Gulf countries in a post. ‘Where was your voice when more than 165 innocent Iranian children were massacred in the city of Minab?’ he wrote on X. ‘Why do you say nothing when hospitals, historical sites, oil facilities, diplomatic police headquarters, fire stations and residential neighbourhoods are ruthlessly targeted? Silence in the face of lawlessness and atrocities is nothing less than complicity,’ Baqaei added.
