Rome, 6 March (LaPresse) – The UN has called for an immediate investigation into Israeli attacks in Lebanon. "The devastating impact of this new conflict is already before our eyes, with civilians paying a painfully high price. In an Israeli attack on 4 March, which hit a residential building in Baalbek, at least eight people were reportedly killed, including three girls and two women. Another attack on 5 March hit a building in the Nabatyeh district, reportedly killing a family of four. Timely and thorough investigations are necessary, in particular to determine whether such attacks complied with the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution," said Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, in a statement.
