Turin, 6 March (LaPresse) – French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that France ‘is not waging war’ in the Middle East. ‘I fully understand and appreciate your concern, but I want to be very clear,’ he said in response to a young user on social media. ‘France is not part of this war. We are not involved in the battle and we will not get involved in this war,’ he said. ‘France is not waging war in this region. It is protecting the French, its allies, and is on the side of Lebanon,’ he added. France has sent military reinforcements, including the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, to protect its citizens and allies affected by Iran's reprisals, to help them ‘intercept drones and missiles. We are mobilising in a completely peaceful manner to try to secure maritime traffic,’ Macron concluded.
