Milan, 5 March (LaPresse) – The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, said in a press release that Israel has destroyed 80% of Iran's air defence systems and achieved ‘almost total air superiority’ over Iran. ‘Within 24 hours, our pilots paved the way to Tehran,’ he said. "So far, Israeli Air Force pilots have carried out 2,500 strikes and dropped more than 6,000 munitions. We have neutralised and destroyed over 60% of ballistic missile launchers, a very significant achievement that reduces damage to the home front and saves many lives.‘ This was reported by the Times of Israel. Zamir then clarified that Israel is moving on to the ’next phase of the campaign" against Iran. “After completing the initial surprise attack phase, in which we established air superiority and suppressed the ballistic missile arsenal, we are now moving on to the next phase of the campaign, in which we will intensify our attack on the regime's foundations and military capabilities,” he explained in the press release. “We have other surprising moves in store, which I do not intend to reveal,” Zamir concluded.
