Milan, 24 February (LaPresse) – On the fourth anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine, the UK government announced ‘the largest’ package of sanctions against Russia ‘since the early months of the Russian invasion,’ adding 297 new designations to its sanctions regime against Russia. British broadcaster Sky News explains that the package targets one of the largest oil companies, PJSC Transneft, which is responsible for transporting over 80% of Russian oil exports. Other measures will affect illegal oil traders and tankers in the so-called shadow fleet. In total, the UK has now sanctioned over 3,000 individuals, companies and ships linked to Russia. The government has also announced an additional £30 million in support for Ukraine's energy resilience and recovery.
