Milan, 16 February (LaPresse) – "I am satisfied. It is difficult for me to say that this is good news because, you know, my husband was killed. Of course, I already knew that: he was less than 50 years old. And although he had lived in harsh conditions and had been tortured, I was sure that he took care of himself and thought about his health. We had seen him just the day before on a video call, and he seemed to be absolutely fine. So it was obvious that something horrible had happened to him, and I was sure it was Vladimir Putin." So said Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, speaking to Politico in an interview reported by Corriere della Sera, commenting on the investigation conducted by the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, France and Germany, which concluded that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a lethal toxin. "So, it was obvious to me that he had been killed in the penal colony: we just didn't know exactly how. For this, I am grateful to the governments of the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands, France and Germany, which collaborated and have just proven everything. The uncertainties have been dispelled: this is not just our investigation. It is an investigation based on highly scientific sources,‘ added Navalnaya, for whom ’we now have evidence that Vladimir Putin is the murderer who killed my husband, and I am working very hard so that one day there will be justice for him.‘ ’I will definitely return home. I dream of returning. I wouldn't say it's nostalgia. I understand that it could take years. But I know about myself, about my children, that we dream of returning home. We have always wanted to live in Russia. Russia is our country. We'll see if and when I return. But of course I would like to help my country become peaceful, prosperous and democratic," Navalnaya added.
