Munich (Germany), 14 February (LaPresse/AP) – On Friday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met briefly with the Danish and Greenlandic leaders in Munich, a meeting that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described as constructive. But today Frederiksen said that although the controversy has subsided, she remains cautious. When asked if the crisis is over, she replied, ‘No, unfortunately not. I believe the US president's desire is exactly the same. He is very serious about this issue.’ When asked if she could put a price on Greenland, she replied ‘certainly not,’ adding that "we must respect sovereign states. We must respect the right of peoples to self-determination. And the Greenlandic people have been very clear: they do not want to become American."
