Munich (Germany), 13 February (LaPresse) – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to meet with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. The context, as The Guardian points out, is significant: the United States remains interested in greater control over the semi-autonomous Danish territory. Talks between Washington, Copenhagen and Nuuk on the future of Greenland have been ongoing for over a month. Rubio recently stated that the process could take months before concrete results are achieved. Before his departure for Munich on Thursday evening, Rubio said, “We are working on it and we are confident”. Rubio is also scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Munich.
