Washington (USA), Feb. 12 (LaPresse) – Donald Trump’s popularity has declined to such an extent that the majority of Americans now regret his predecessor Joe Biden, whose unpopularity had forced him to forgo a re-election bid. This is what three new polls indicate, reflecting the approval ratings of the U.S. president one year into his second term. According to the Harvard CAPS/Harris survey conducted between January 28 and 29, 51% of registered voters say Trump is doing a worse job than Biden, compared with 49% who say he is doing better. For Rasmussen Reports (February 2-4), an institute usually favorable to Trump, 48% of likely voters say Biden did a better job as president, compared with 40% for the tycoon. Another 8% said the two presidents’ performances were “more or less identical.” Finally, according to YouGov/Economist (February 6-9), 46% of U.S. adults say Trump is doing a worse job than Biden, compared with 40% who say he is doing better. Another 7% reported “more or less identical” results.
