Brussels, Feb. 11 (LaPresse) – “At the meeting of defense ministers there is a lot to discuss. First of all, we have the new Ukrainian defense minister, Mykhailo Fyodorov, known for his innovations in the field of defense. What is important is to know that Russia is not winning this war. The casualty rate is rising sharply. Their economy is not doing well. So, of course, we are discussing what more we can do,” said EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Kaja Kallas, arriving at the Foreign Affairs Council in defense format in Brussels.
“There is also much,” she added, “that we need to learn” from Ukraine “in terms of defense innovation and how to rapidly increase our defense spending. In addition, we will discuss our contribution to security guarantees. We have discussed training Ukrainian soldiers also on Ukrainian territory. We have identified two training centers that could be used for this purpose. And then there is still the issue of funding.”
