Strasbourg (France), 11 February (LaPresse) – The European Parliament has given the green light to a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. The so-called “Ukraine support loan” will help cover the country's financing needs. Of the €90 billion, €60 billion will go towards strengthening Ukraine's defence and €30 billion towards macro-financial assistance. The loan will be financed through common EU debt and Ukraine will repay it once it has received war reparations from Russia. In exchange for the loan, Ukraine will have to commit to continuing democratic reforms and the fight against corruption.
