Rome, 10 February (LaPresse) – ‘As everyone knows, Canada has treated the United States very unfairly for decades. Now, things are changing for the United States, and quickly!’ US President Donald Trump writes in Truth. "Canada is building a huge bridge between Ontario and Michigan. It owns both the Canadian and US sides and, of course, built it with virtually no US content,‘ he wrote, pointing out that ’President Barack Hussein Obama foolishly gave them a waiver so they could bypass the Buy American Act and not use any American products, including our steel. Now, the Canadian government expects me, as President of the United States, to allow them to 'take advantage of America! What does the United States of America get? Absolutely nothing!‘ reads the post. ’Ontario doesn't even put US alcohol, beverages and other alcoholic products on its shelves, it is absolutely forbidden to do so, and now, as if that weren't enough, Prime Minister Carney wants to make a deal with China, which will eat Canada alive. We'll only get the leftovers! I don't think so. The first thing China will do is end all ice hockey played in Canada and permanently eliminate the Stanley Cup. The tariffs Canada imposes on our dairy products have been unacceptable for many years, putting our farmers at serious financial risk. I will not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for all we have given them and, importantly, until Canada treats the United States with the fairness and respect we deserve. We will begin negotiations immediately. With all we have given them, we should own, perhaps, at least half of this asset. The revenues generated by the US market will be astronomical,‘ Trump concludes. He returns to attacking Canada, citing the ’huge toll‘ the country is building between Ontario and Michigan. ’They own both the Canadian and US sides,‘ Trump points out, ’and, of course, they built it with virtually no US content." ‘I will not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for all that we have given them and, importantly, Canada treats the United States with the fairness and respect we deserve.
