The White House stresses that a stable West Bank is fundamental to Israel's security and consistent with the goal of promoting peace in the region. The statement comes after Israel's announcement that it will extend its control over areas of the West Bank that, according to the Oslo Accords, should be under the full or partial jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority. Trump will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.
