Kiev (Ukraine), 5 February (LaPresse/AP) – The United States and Russia have agreed to re-establish high-level military dialogue after a meeting between senior Russian and American military officials in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This was reported by the US European Command. The agreement was reached following meetings in Abu Dhabi between General Alexus Grynkewich, commander of the US European Command – and NATO's supreme allied commander in Europe – and senior Russian and Ukrainian military officers, according to the US European Command. Grynkewich was in Abu Dhabi for trilateral talks between American, Russian and Ukrainian officials on ending the war in Ukraine. The channel ‘will provide ongoing military contact as the parties continue to work towards a lasting peace,’ the statement said. High-level military communications had been suspended in 2021, shortly before Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine.
